The HELPE refinery is the biggest crude oil refinery in Greece. In 2009, due to increased production demands, the capacity of the distillation columns of a hydro‐treatment system had to be increased. This was achieved without changing the columns, by suitable design and installation of the columns trays and other internal systems. GIT engineered and refurbished successfully the two distillation tower internals.
