Our Journey and Milestones

Since its creation, GIT has built a strong reputation for engineering innovation and reliability. Our journey began with a landmark project: the licensing, design, erection supervision, commissioning, and startup of a high-pressure Group II capable waste lube oil distillate deep hydrotreater unit. This cutting-edge unit has set a benchmark in the industry for producing high-quality base oils while adhering to stringent environmental standards.

Building on this success, GIT has delivered exceptional results for clients across diverse industries, including major projects as:

  • Major Engineering Studies for Crude Oil Refinery :
    • Designed and proposed a central fuel gas management system to optimize energy efficiency in major refinery in Libya.

    • Conducted study and refurbishing of fractionation towers in major Greek refinery.
  • Waste Lube Oil Re-refining Projects:
    • Implemented licensing, design, erection supervision, commissioning, and startup of a high-pressure Group II+  and Group III capable waste lube oil distillate deep hydrotreater unit.
    • Conducted research, licensed, and designed a waste lube oil distillate solvent treatment polishing unit, in Thessaloniki, Greece , already in operation since 2014.
    • Designed a major Used Oil recycling plant in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, with high pressure hydrotreating for the production of Group II+ Base Oils, already in start up phase
    • Designed a Base Oil hydrotreating Unit for Used Oil recycling plant in Romania, aiming to produce Group II+ Base Oils.
  • Oil waste products re-cycling (MARPOL):
    • Designed , constructed and started up an  Oil Waste recycling  plant in Greece , producing marine fuel.
  • Base Oil Production from Crude Oil
    • GIT has performed the basic and detailed design and procurement of main equipment of a Hydrotreater Unit for a major Base Oil production unit from Vacuum Gas Oil in the area of Kurdistan, Iraq. The unit is currently under construction and is planned to start-up by end of 2025.
