Refinery-Wide Fuel Gas Management System Study
Client: Major crude oil refinery in the Mediterranean region.
Challenge:
The refinery, consisting of two parallel trains of units, faced an imbalance in its fuel gas systems. One train typically operated with a fuel gas surplus, while the other experienced a fuel gas deficit.
Solution:
GIT conducted a detailed field survey and performed mass and material balance calculations for all fired heaters. Based on the findings, we designed and proposed the installation of an overall fuel gas management system utilizing mass balance feedforward control to ensure seamless integration and energy efficiency.
Refinery-Wide Fired Heater Efficiency Improvement Study
Client: Major crude oil refinery in the Mediterranean region.
Challenge:
The refinery aimed to enhance the efficiency of its fired heaters, a critical component in reducing energy consumption and operational costs.
Solution:
GIT conducted a comprehensive field survey to evaluate all the fired heaters in the refinery. Efficiency calculations revealed the furnaces with the highest improvement potential. We then specified and designed air preheater systems equipped with forced/induced draft fans to optimize heater performance and energy usage.
